Magical Tails Unfold

"Enter. Nicole."

Lyon was busy working on some paper work. His office was located on Galuna Island where the residents now believed they were humans who were transforming into monsters because of the purple moon at night. He, currently, had his armor removed, showing off his wild white hair.

Nicole entered the room. She sat in a chair in front of his desk, crossing her legs with her hands in her lap. "Lyon I found something you could use against Gray. Fairy Tail has got a new recruit. Her name's Kurai. And from what I could tell Gray seems to care about her a great deal. In my opinion if you held her as your prisoner Gray would have to do everything you tell him to do for Kurai's safety."

Lyon looked at his friend. "Really now?" he asked. "This is indeed interesting. He will pay for what he did to our master. She sacrificed herself to save his ass and soon I will get retribution. He stood and walked over to a monitor in the wall, showing a large beast incased in ice. "And soon all will be right in the world. I'll release him and show Gray who is the better man."

"Would you like me to go back and spy some more? I mean it's only a theory right now. I haven't actually heard him say he loves her yet." Nicole turned into a bird getting ready to fly out the window. She had herself perked on Lyon's finger as she asked that. Yes, as an animal she was actually still able to talk human speech.

Lyon smiled. "I don't want you to waste too much of your magic energy. But I do want to know if Fairy Tail will be foolish enough to take the S-Class quest the villagers have requested. In fact, I want you, when the day comes that the mission does arrive as it will take a couple weeks at least, to be sure the mission falls into Gray's hands. I want him to witness my triumph."

"Lyon, you should know me by now. You know I'd do anything for you. Even if I do use too much magic energy it's for a good cause," she told him. Unknown to Lyon the reason Nicole always pushed herself so hard was because she'd been in love with him for a long time now.

"Just don't be like Sherrie constantly announcing she does it for 'love'," he replied. He then walked over to an opened window and flew up his arm, letting her become airborne. "Go Nicole and don't come back until Gray and his friends will be coming. In four weeks the Moon Drip will be complete."

The woman flew off and went back to Fairy Tail where she then turned back into a fly and went to spy on Gray. That night she was in for a surprise though. Kurai's first night there she had nightmares from her experience. She woke up screaming very loudly. She then jumped up, grabbed her housecoat and after putting it on left her room going next door to Gray's room. She then knocked on his door awfully loudly and desperately calling out his name through the door as she sobbed and shook. It was 1:00 in the morning.

Gray, who was exhausted, groggily pulled himself out of his bed and went to the door. His hair was messier than usual and he was not wearing his necklace like he usually wore, but was wearing sleeping shorts. He stifled a yawn as he rubbed an eye.

"Kurai... what's with you? It's 1 in the morning."

The fly girl watched in the corner at the ceiling as Kurai entered his room and closed the door behind her. She locked it back and threw herself into Gray's chest sobbing and hugging him. Her whole body shook in fear as she mumbled to Gray,"I... I'm scared." Seemed something had frighten her and she was a bit embarrassed to tell him. But he could probably figure it out on his own. After what she'd been through it was only natural to have nightmares.

Gray was thrown into complete alertness. "What are you afraid of?" he asked gently as he held her close and walked her over to his bed, which was a bachelor apartment much like Lucy's. Except this apartment building was designed by Master Makarov and to earn their keep, they help out around the building and the Guild hall. There was an apartment building for Fairy Tail girls, but Kurai had to stay within Gray's reach.

"Don't laugh... I... I had a nightmare," Kurai sobbed. "And no I don't want to tell you about it." She was sitting on his lap on his bed with his arms around her as she sobbed and shook in fear. The dream must of really shook her up a bit. Now he'd have to calm her down.

"Why would I laugh at something like that?" he asked. "You just went through a big ordeal with the lost of your parents and even the place you grew up in. You're completely far from home in a place completely strange to you. You're an orphan, like me."

"I... I'm scared Gray. Please help me," Kurai cried. The poor woman was indeed suffering with her parents loss. Gray's heart probably ached as he felt the poor woman shaking in his arms. Maybe he could fix her some tea to relax her and help her get back to sleep. But he'd have to let her sleep in his room tonight so if she needed anything he'd be there for her.

"I have an idea, why don't I fix you some tea to help relax your mind and in the meantime why don't you curl up in my bed."

The blankets would still be warm from his body heat and it would probably make her feel safe too since she'd probably be able to smell his musky scent from whatever cologne he wore.

Kurai nodded and Gray laid her in his bed, pulling the covers over her and running his fingers through her hair gently. She waited patiently as Gray went to make the tea. "You're very kind," she told him. "Thank you."

Gray looked at her from the stove as he waited for the water to get hot for tea. He didn't own a teapot but he did own a kettle and he did have tea bags.

"It's no problem. I hate seeing young women be in distress like that. Anyone who wishes to abuse women, should be shot. It disgusts me people do that."

After about 30 minutes the tea was done and he brought it over to her telling her to sip slowly, it's hot. "Thank you Gray," she told him. "So," she started as she sipped the drink, "Who was this master you told me about?" She wanted to make idle conversation. "I mean... you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. If the subject's too painful."

Gray shook his head. "No, I don't feel like going into the details. She was a great person and she died protecting me and it's my fault. He sat on the bed and leaned his head against the wall, eyes closed. I was just a kid then and after that, I found myself here with Erza, Natsu and many others. We all grew up together."

"Is that why you take off your clothes without realizing it?" She asked him. She got a bit closer to him and sit up leaning her head against his shoulder in comfort. She wanted to be there for him like he was for her.

Gray's eyes widened as his jaw dropped. Luckily he wasn't drinking anything or one of them would be wearing the liquid. "Wha..." he started before blinking several times, remembering Ur teaching him to use ice magic. He sighed in defeat. "Yes. Ur trained us... another kid who disappeared after she died... and she said removing our clothes would be easier."

"It's okay, Gray. You don't have to pretend anymore. I know you've been lonely without her. Let me help you. I'll be the best friend you can come to when you need it." Kurai could guess what he'd been going through? She laid her head on his lap trying to comfort him. He probably felt his heart rate speed up as she laid on him. She hadn't had her head on his lap for long before the darkness of sleep over took her body.

His heart began to pick up speed as his hand, unconsciously, rested against her head and began to brush her hair gently.

"Thank you," he whispered. He leaned his head back, eyes closing again.

The next morning when Gray was to wake he'd find the woman was still sleeping on his lap. There was also a woman who was sleeping under his bed. It was Nicole. She couldn't sleep as a fly so she turned back into her human form after the two went to sleep and went to sleep under the bed.

Gray woke with a kink in his back. Just as he went to move, he felt something restricting his legs. He looked down and instantly remembered. Kurai had a bad dream and asked him for help. Taking his hand, he slightly nudged her.

"Kurai, it's morning," he replied.
